1 Peter 1:23 says, "For you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God." God's word is the incorruptible word. The incorruptible seed that creates life. 

When you were born again your life was reborn due to your belief in the word of God, which entered your spirit and made you new. The problem with salvation is that although we are made new on the inside by Christ, our memories do not change. We can renew our minds by meditating on and speaking the word of God thus renewing our minds.  The incorruptible seed which is the word of God has the power to transform our minds.
